People want change in their life but they aren't willing to change their life. It's funny, how you try to explain to people the connection between posture and pain for example.
There is the old classic joke.
A man comes in to a doctor and says, "Doc, it hurts when I do this".
The Dr. replies, "So, don't do that!"
This is not very complicated my friends. When we have year after year of poor posture, sitting habits, incorrect ergonomics, no exercises etc... it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that there will be consequences.
Take for example the law of compensation we spoke about earlier. When we refuse to address a problem in one area, it will rear its ugly head in another.
That is the funny thing about us here in the USA. We want things fixed quickly and easily but we don't want to do anything about it personally sometimes. We want to take a pill or have a chiropractor adjust us one time and then never have to worry about it again.
Unfortunately, ultimately each and everyone of us holds the key to the quality of our life. It is not in the "quick fix" but in the little things we do every day. The choices of the food we eat. The habit of regular stretching and daily exercise and regular chiropractic maintenance.
That is one of the things that separates us here from other chiropractors. We not only will look at what hurts, we will exam why it hurts and talk about how your life style choices could be affecting the quality of your health.
In the next article I will give an example of this.
